Terms of Service

Effective date: 9 July 2026

1. About MathsHarbour

MathsHarbour is an Australian online learning platform that helps students build maths skills aligned to the Australian Curriculum. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the MathsHarbour website and services.

By registering for an account or using our service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account. Parents or guardians register on behalf of student users. By creating an account, you confirm that you are 18 or older and, where you are registering on behalf of a student, that you are that student's parent or legal guardian.

3. Our Service

MathsHarbour provides an online maths learning platform currently covering Year 7 mathematics, aligned to the Australian Curriculum. The platform includes structured lessons, practice questions, skill mastery tracking, and an Ask a Tutor feature.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time with reasonable notice.

4. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account.

Each subscription covers one student. If you wish to add additional students, please contact us.

5. Subscription and Payment

MathsHarbour offers a Foundational plan at $29 per month (Australian dollars, GST inclusive). Payment is processed securely through Stripe. A valid credit or debit card is required to start your free trial.

Your subscription renews automatically each month unless cancelled. By providing payment details, you authorise us to charge your card on the renewal date each month.

Prices may change with 30 days' written notice. Continued use after the effective date of a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.

6. Free Trial and Cancellation

New accounts receive a 14-day free trial. Your card is not charged during the trial period. If you cancel before the trial ends, you will not be charged.

After the trial, you may cancel your subscription at any time through your billing settings or by contacting us. On cancellation, your access continues until the end of your current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.

7. Ask a Tutor

The Ask a Tutor feature allows students to submit maths questions to our tutor team. We aim to respond promptly, but we do not guarantee response times. Tutors provide educational support only - they are not providing a private tutoring service or guaranteeing any particular educational outcome.

Tutors may decline to answer questions that are off-topic, inappropriate, or outside the scope of the platform's curriculum coverage.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on MathsHarbour - including lessons, questions, explanations, and curriculum materials - is owned by MathsHarbour and protected by Australian copyright law. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the content for personal, non-commercial educational purposes only.

You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without prior written permission.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • share your account credentials with others
  • use the platform for any unlawful purpose
  • attempt to scrape, copy, or reverse-engineer any part of the service
  • interfere with the security or operation of the platform
  • submit abusive, offensive, or inappropriate content via Ask a Tutor

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach these conditions.

10. Limitation of Liability

MathsHarbour is provided on an "as is" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, we exclude all implied warranties and representations. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the service.

Where liability cannot be excluded by law (including under the Australian Consumer Law), our liability is limited to resupplying the relevant service or, at our option, refunding the amount paid for that service in the relevant period.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by a prominent notice on the platform before the changes take effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any disputes arising under these Terms are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.
